Warning: this post is bitchin’

My blog is dead boring. I’m stuck in some sort of no-mans-land as to what it is even doing on the internet, and even available for the public’s poor, sorry eyes.
Personal finance blogs, even ones that offer weak and highly repetitive advice on how to save money, or little statements about their ‘net worth’ are seeing some good viewership. I hate that, man. Net worth is bullshit; it’s so bullshit that I don’t even want to visit your blog anymore – I already know I’m ‘worth’ more than you, so why don’t you come to my site and see how I do it?…that’s right, cause I don’t blog about bullshit.
My actual problem is that I don’t offer a ’service’, and what I write about doesn’t spark discussion – yet. So, I’m not an advice blog (though if you think about it, you’ll learn), and I’m not creating discussion cause no ones knows what to make of my information. What do I do?
Well, I keep on keeping on. I do this for practice, and the day will come when I reach that medium where I write things that are informative and maybe even discussion worthy. I’m in low, but not looking to sell high.
There are certain discussions I don’t want:
*discussions on how I can save money on shampoo;
*discussions on how to make $20 work for me;
*discussions on if it’s okay to live at home, and if this is immature or Gen-Y.
I can read those elsewhere. You know blogs are getting better when they evolve. Some don’t.
When I first started blogging it seemed to want to be an outlet for frustrations, accomplishments, discoveries and all else about what it was like being in the workplace. That’s cause I had ‘burst’ into the scene at an office job, and was learning how to get along. Well, I think that’s the material of a diary. Or I’ll call my mom about it and tell her how I had a proposal accepted. Or I’ll bitch back home about having one rejected.
I am attempting to evolve, and it is proving to be slow. That being said, with the need for diversity, you’ll see I’m a hypocrite.
Until next time, enjoy the holidays! (or your respective religion if you have one)

Hahaa, I would hardly call this post bitchin’! It’s tough trying to speak to your audience. For me I don’t think your blog is boring, but I don’t know that much about bears or forestry so I don’t have much to add to the discussion. So while I read it, I don’t have some intelligent thing to say to spark on a full out debate on why making eye contact with a bear is ok or why buying stock in one tree is better than another. So I don’t generally comment. I’m assuming that others are the same? I don’t think it is a matter of boring, it’s a matter of if your audience is on the same page. I’m not saying don’t write about these things either. Anyone can go on and on about Gen Y because it’s more universal (most people know or have come in contact with someone in that age range) than knowing about forestry.
But I wouldn’t worry about it unless you want more discussion. You seem to accomplish the whole reason why you write this blog: “I mean to provide at least mild amusement, if not interesting and useful information.”

yesyes, thanks rosie!
i guess as much as i think i’d like attention (through sarcasm and self-deprecation) – that may even come with too much responsibility.
i’ll just keep on keeping it on.
cya!
